What is Fylo?​

Why Fylo?​

When creating Fylo, we imagined a single advanced bot that could handle everything, from moderators abusing their powers, to stopping attacks from other bots, to extremely detailed logging, to comprehensive automatic server backups. A bot that would work tirelessly in the background, protecting servers 24/7 without requiring constant attention. That vision became Fylo - the most powerful Discord security bot, designed to give every server owner peace of mind, knowing their community is being protected at all times.

After conducting some research, we quickly found that too many servers were left vulnerable to malicious users because the required tools were simply not available.

In many other security focused bots, we discovered that:

  • The most useful features are locked behind a paywall.
  • Automatic moderation action is regularly incorrectly issued.
  • Discord's API isn't fully utilised; some bots don't use slash commands, some bots' functionality could be made simpler by implementing buttons, etc.
  • They're extremely overwhelming for new users.
  • Some commands are confusing to use, even for experienced Discord users.
  • Some commands don't work as intended if at all.
  • There are no configuration menus to whitelist roles, channels, etc.
  • A very tedious setup process is included.
  • Command responses and embeds aren't formatted in a presentable/readable manner.
  • Most dashboards to configure settings aren't designed intuitively or with the consumer in mind, for example they're difficult, especially on mobile.
