Global Bans

The Global Bans module bans users from your server based on Fylo's global ban database if the module is enabled. This module is useful for preventing known malicious users from joining your server.

What is a Global Ban?

A global ban is issued to a user when they break one of Fylo's global rules. Users don't have to be in a server with Fylo to be added to the global ban database or to commit a globally bannable offence.

Why Global Bans?

While Discord provides its own reporting system, the process may not always result in immediate action, if any, against harmful users. Fylo's global ban system serves as an additional layer of protection for our communities, allowing communities to proactively protect their members from known bad actors.

info

It's important to note that Fylo is not affiliated with Discord and cannot help with account-related issues or Discord-specific reports. Our global ban system exists solely to help communities protect themselves from users who have demonstrated harmful behavior across multiple servers and have not had action taken against them by Discord.

How it Works

When a user joins your server, Fylo will automatically check their user ID against our global ban database. If they're globally banned, they'll be banned from your server and they'll be sent a DM explaining exactly why. If you've set a Global Ban Log Channel, a log will also be sent to that channel.

When a user is added to the global ban database and the Global Bans module is enabled, Fylo will check to see if that user is in your server. If they are, they will be banned from your server and they'll be sent a DM explaining exactly why. If you've set a Global Ban Log Channel, a log will also be sent to that channel.

Reporting a User

To report a user for breaking a global rule, please DM Fylo to be connected to our support team.

Alternatively, you can contact us via email at [email protected].

Appeals

Fylo implements a fair global ban appeals process. Any globally banned user can appeal their ban ONCE by navigating to our website and logging in. A red banner at the top of the page will be displayed, prompting them to click to submit an appeal application.

We'd like to emphasise that appeals can only be submitted once. If an appeal is rejected, the global ban will remain active without providing the user a chance to appeal again.
