Server Backups

The Server Backups module is a robust system which creates and restores backups of your server's configuration. This module is useful for enabling quick recovery from accidents or unwanted changes, and maintaining a history of server states.

When this module is enabled, Fylo will automatically create a backup of your server's configuration every 24 hours, however you can also create manual backups.

You can only have a maximum of 3 backups stored at any time. If you create a new backup when you're at the limit, the oldest backup will be deleted.

Backups​

The following things are backed up:

  • Categories (w/ names, positions & permissions) except threads, community rule channels & community updates channels.
  • Channels w/ names, types, positions, topics, NSFW statuses & permissions.
  • Roles (w/ names, colors, positions, icons, hoisted statuses, mentionable statuses, permissions) except the server booster role.
  • Stickers w/ names, emojis, URLs & descriptions.
  • Emojis w/ names & URLs.
  • Bans w/ reasons.

Restorations​

When a backup is restored via the website, all categories, channels, roles, stickers, emojis and bans are deleted in your server before being restored from the backup.

The server's name is also changed if the current name is different from the one in the backup.
